Fillings and restorations
Tooth-coloured fillings that repair decay or damage and restore normal function.
When a tooth is affected by decay, chipping or wear, a filling restores its shape and function. We use tooth-coloured composite resin for most fillings, matched to the shade of your natural tooth.
Larger areas of damage may need an inlay, onlay or crown. Your dentist will explain the options, their expected longevity and the fees for each before any work begins.
What a visit involves
Local anaesthetic so the area is numb during treatment
Removal of decay and careful shaping of the tooth
Placement and setting of the filling, then a bite check
This page is general information only and does not replace an examination. Suitability, risks and fees for any treatment are discussed with you in person before you decide. Individual results vary.
